Meet the kids

This is Elias. He's 3 and hilarious. He trips over his feet 5 times a day, speaks mostly Span-glish and his favorite food is guacamole. He loves to play with cars or toy figurines, especially superheroes. He also likes to play ball, sing songs, and read books.







This is Isabella. She's 11 months, will turn 1 on Sept. 21. She just started walking but she stops every couple steps to make sure you're applauding. She's got rhythm and she likes to use it. Her favorite position is to be on someone's hip, and she eats almost as much as I do- only solids mind you, none of that baby food stuff. She thinks she's as old as Elias, and she has enough attitude for both of them.

Siblings...

They generally love to be around each other. Elias thinks it's cool to be hero-worshipped, except of course when she's after the toy he has. She wants to be just like him, including the rough-and-tumble boy part of him. She's learned very well to defend herself--almost too much--she's gotten a bit of a reputation in her childcare class!

Andrés

Here's Andrés, my husband of 6 1/2 years now. He is a physician specializing in geriatrics. He's also recently started Lutheran seminary, taking classes out of Austin, Texas and working to develop a mission in the Latino population of West Columbia. Here he is lookin' all cute and priestly (can you use those two words together???). Yes, he's as deep as he looks, but he also specializes in corny jokes.
